Finally, the oxymoron of bringing canvas shopping bags to the store only to stuff my produce into several plastic bags can be eliminated! I found this reusable produce bag from Safi (machine washable) at a local natural foods store. Once I posted my find on Twitter,…I was contacted by a couple other companies: Bite (nice name!) and Esse. The only issue I foresee with the Safi and Bite bags (which have holes) is whether a lot of liquid will trickle through when I put something damp in it like parsley or lettuce. Keep you posted. (And I’ll admit, I was waiting for my grocery store cashier to comment on my new bags when I sent them down the conveyor belt, so I could tell everyone all about my amazing new discovery, but she was blasé. Darn! : )
